We provide mobile speech pathology services to children and adolescents with reading, writing and spelling difficulties.

Assessment

We can provide assessment of:

  • Reading

  • Underlying skills involved in literacy (phonological awareness, phonological memory and rapid automatised naming)

Assessment process works to:

  • Identify strengths and areas of difficulty
    Build a clear picture of the client’s abilities, highlighting both competencies and challenges.

  • Inform educational planning
    Provide tailored recommendations that guide teachers, caregivers, and support staff in creating effective learning opportunities.

  • Collaborate on goal-setting
    Work closely with caregivers/carers to develop meaningful goals and a practical plan that supports the client’s ongoing learning and communication development.

  • Measure progress
    Track growth over time to ensure strategies are effective and adjust plans as needed.

Assessments typically involve:

  • Detailed case history
    Gathering information from parents/caregivers about their child’s development, presenting concerns, strengths, and interests.

  • Standardised testing
    Comparing your child’s skills to those of peers of the same age.

  • Questionnaires, checklists, or screeners
    Using structured tools to capture specific aspects of learning and communication.

  • Collaboration with other professionals
    With your permission, collecting insights from teachers, psychologists, doctors, or others who know your child to form a complete picture.

Our aim through the assessment process is to gain to gain a holistic understanding of the child’s communication needs and strengths, and to work collaboratively with families to develop goals.

Therapy/Intervention

We are passionate about supporting all people to access literacy.

Intervention focuses on:

  • Systematic Synthetic Phonics to support literacy, phonological awareness, reading, decoding and spelling

  • Writing: sentence construction, notetaking, paragraphs, summarising and using grammar in context.

  • Comprehension: understanding what is read
